When we design your web site for you, we set it up so that it's easy for you to make changes to the content. With the traditional method of designing websites, if you as a customer wanted a change made to your website, you have to contact the webmaster and wait for the webmaster to make the changes as he/she sees fit and when they are able to. We use a Content Management System which allows you to make changes to the content anytime you wish, without having to contact the webmaster unless you want to.
Some of the features offered with the website:
* Photo gallery - members can upload pictures
* Newsletter - members can subscribe/unsubscribe themselves to the
newsletter and select members can send out newsletters to those that are
subscribed.
* Ad listings - if members have products they want to buy or sell, they
can do so here. This can be set up so that certain members have to give
approval to content that other members might post.
* Calendar - a calendar that allows for members or the public to see at
a glance events that are coming up.
* Google map - a map that provides directions to the public on how to
get your locations.
* Forum - a forum that allows members and/or the public to discuss related topics.
* Links - links to other clubs/societies that members and the public may
wish to visit online.
* Front Page announcements - content can be selectively set to be
visible on the home page of the website and simultaneously visible in
other parts of the site. This would make important content more visible.
* Timed pages - content can be set to appear on the site on a certain
date/time and disappear after a certain date/time. This prevents old &
outdated content from hanging around or new content from appearing
prematurely.
* Other pages - pages containing content that would not be in the previous categories.
* Members Only - any of the above features can be set to be available to
members only or to the public, depending on the need.
* Email accounts - email accounts for select members that allows them to
have addresses that match the website domain name. Email can be
accessed by webmail or by email clients such as Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.
* Domain name - a web address that matches the organization name (dependent upon domain name availability).
